It's January, we've had time off with our families and best thing ever, we haven't had to juggle the frantic homelife with work. But then January comes upon us with it's grey skies and dark mornings and we're straight back into the daily struggle of getting out of bed and getting back into that killer routine!
I don't know about you, but I get up at 6am - or should I say the alarm clock goes off at 6am, I hit snooze a couple of times and then get up at about 6.15am, I feed the cats and let them out, I let the dogs out and then feed them, I sort out the pack lunches for the kids and grab a coffee at the same time, then I get the breakfast ready for the kids. Until that point, it's very quiet in my house, but then I have to try to get my children out of their beds, having been enjoying later nights and way too much screen time, the back to school blues hits everyone!
Just putting your work clothes on, the structure of smarter clothes and shoes or formal boots rather than my comfy UGG boots! No wonder our children don't look forward to going back to school, we suffer just the same!
All I can say is it has to get easier, we just put one foot in front of the other until the mornings get lighter and the routine gets more familiar again, and then, just like clockwork we are back onto that treadmill - you are not alone!
